Requirements:
The candidate will possess an AA Degree with a minimum of 2 years experience or a Bachelor Degree in an optics/lasers or related technical field such as Physics or Engineering. Laser Engineer IV (Senior Laser Engineer, R&D): New!!
Responsibilities:
Photonics Industries is a leading OEM manufacturer of diode-pumped solid state lasers, for both industrial and scientific applications. We are located in central Long Island, NY. As part of the Research and Development team, you will be responsible for:
- Technical development of new laser products
- Technical development of extensions to existing products
- Support manufacturing by troubleshooting production difficulties
- Identify and resolve quality problems.
Must be a strong contributor functioning with minimal supervision. This is a hands-on laboratory position.
Requirements:
The candidate will possess Ph.D. in Physics/EE/Optics. New grads encouraged to apply. 3-5 years experience in laser development with significant emphasis on Nd:YAG, Nd:YLF, Nd:YVO4, and/or Ti:Sapphire laser. Experience in nonlinear optics, SHG, THG, or OPO is a plus.

ELECTRICAL ASSEMBLY: New!!
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be joining our electronics manufacturing group. This group is responsible for the production of the control electronics used on our solid state laser systems. Candidate should have some knowledge of optics assembly, optics sub-assembly, mechanical and electrical components assembly. Candidate needs to be organized and cooperate with manufacturing and engineering. Candidate must work well with their hands especially with small parts.
Requirements:
The candidate will possess some college/course work. Experience with Electronics/Lasers or related field is preferred, but we will train most motivated and dedicated candidates. US Citizens preferred.

LASER OPTICS TECHNICIAN: New!!
Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for building Diode-Pumped Solid-State lasers, optics assembly, and optics sub-assembly working with laser crystals and cleaning optics parts. The candidate should be organized, detail oriented, and good at working with their hands with small parts. The candidate will work from method sheets, service manuals and follow directions from manufacturing engineering. Some travel relating to field service may be required.
Requirements:
Entry level. The candidate should possess an AA degree or higher in Electronics/Lasers or in a related field. Experience with lasers and optics and/or the ability to use test equipment (microscopes, alignment lasers, oscilloscopes, photodiodes, beam analyzers, etc.) is preferred, but we will train motivated candidates. MACHINIST: New!!
Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for programming, set up and running of HAAS Vertical and Horizontal Milling Machines. Must be mechanically inclined and be able to read blueprints and measurement equipment such as micrometers and calibers. The candidate should be organized, detail oriented, and good at working with their hands. The candidate will work from method sheets, service manuals and follow directions from manufacturing prints.
Requirements:
Salary based upon experience. The candidate should possess an AA degree, Trade School Degree/Certificate or 5+ years experience in related field. Machine Shop experience is a must. Candidate must be able to work independently.

The candidate will be responsible for crating and uncrating laser systems, washing/bagging parts, running paperwork between departments, handing out job orders with additional responsibilities as well. He/She will also work with our manufacturing engineering group on other standard and customized laser products. He/She may also work with the customer service support group which is responsible for supporting our worldwide customer base and distribution network through email, phone and field service/application engineering support.
Requirements:
The candidate will possess Bachelor, Masters or PhD Degree in EE or related technical field (e.g., Physics, ME, or Engineering Technology) with a proven industrial design track record in microprocessor based systems. Experience with analog & digital circuit design and microprocessor programming is required. US Citizens preferred.
